Kathy Retzlaff has been administrator of Blue Valley Care Home since January 2003.  Having a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition from UNL, Kathy worked for BVLH as a registered dietician since 1977.  Kathy and husband Roger live in Hebron and have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.  In addition Kathy is a dedicated warrant officer in the Army Reserve. Joy Barton is Care Home Activity Director.  Joy was born and raised in Thayer County on a farm by Friedensau.  Joy earned a Bachelor's degree in K-12 Art from UNK.  After teaching for a year, Joy returned to Thayer County where she resides with her husband and two children.  Joy feels she has found a wonderful job at the Care Home where she has realized that she not only provides activities and entertaining events, but has become family to each and every resident.  Contact Joy at 402-768-3936 or joyb@bvlh.org

Care Home Social Services Director is Melissa Sasse.  Melissa has always lived in Thayer County except while attended college.  She began working at BVCH as a nurse aide during college in 1989.  After graduating from Doane College with a Bachelor's in psychology and sociology in 1992, Melissa became the Social Services Director at the Care Home.  Melissa, husband Galen, and son Matthew live on a farm near Deshler.  Over the years she has enjoyed meeting a variety of residents.  Contact Melissa at 402-768-3935 or email melissas@bvlh.org
